French Angelfish
The French Angelfish (Pomacanthus paru) is a large angelfish found in the western Atlantic Ocean from New York and the Bahamas to Brazil, and also the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. It is common in shallow reefs where it feeds on sponges, algae, gorgonians, and tunicates. It is mostly black in color, but the scales of the body are rimmed with a beautiful golden yellow. This large angelfish species grows to a maximum length up up to 16 inches (41 centimeters).
