Anemonefish and Host

This image of two clownfish in a host sea anemone was captured by NOAA photographer Julie Bedford in the waters off the coast of Fiji in the Pacific Ocean. These fish are known as pink skunk clownfish (Amphiprion perideraion). They are one of the most common clownfish species found in the Pacific. Their color can range from pink to orange. They get their name from the white stripe that runs along their back. These clownfish have taken refuge in the tentacles of a pink-tipped anemone (Condylactis gigantea).
