Wandering Comet 67P
This image of comet 67P was captured by The European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft on August 3, 2014, from a distance of 177 miles (285 kilometers). This comet originally came from the Kuiper belt beyond the orbit of Neptune. It is approximately 2.7 by 2.5 miles (4.3 by 4.1 km) at its longest and widest dimensions and has an orbital period of 6.45 years. It is currently traveling through space at a velocity of 84,000 mph (135,000 km/h).
