Giant Jupiter
This picture of Jupiter was taken by NASA's Cassini spacecraft during its closest approach to the giant planet at a distance of 6.2 million miles (10 million kilometers). This image was assembled from a mosaic of 27 separate images and represents the most detailed global portrait of Jupiter ever produced. The famous great red spot can be seen in great detail. Other incredible details can be seen in the planet's cloud bands. The colors in this image are very close to what the human eye would see.
